Terms of Service

By accessing or using LANDTHATROLE ("the Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and LANDTHATROLE, governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.

LANDTHATROLE is a job board for the United States and Canada that aggregates verified, active job listings sourced directly from employer Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, and 60+ others. Our goal is to surface real, active opportunities that job seekers cannot easily find elsewhere.

Our services include:

• Job search, browse, and filter functionality
• Job alert emails and saved job functionality
• AI-powered career tools (Resume Checker, Cover Letter Generator, Interview Prep)
• Salary data by role and city
• Canadian Tax Calculator
• Application Tracker
• Pro membership with enhanced access
• Insiders referral program

LANDTHATROLE is not a staffing agency, recruiter, or employer. We do not place candidates with employers, charge employers to post jobs, or participate in any hiring decision. We are an information aggregation and career tools platform only.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use LANDTHATROLE. By using the Platform you represent that you meet this requirement. The Platform is intended for individuals seeking employment in the United States or Canada, and for employers with active job openings in those countries.

You must not use the Platform if you are prohibited from doing so under the laws of your jurisdiction.

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately at support@landthatrole.com of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice in cases of serious or repeated violations.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting support@landthatrole.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Free Tier

Free users may browse all job listings, set job alerts, save jobs, and access AI tools with daily usage limits. Free access is provided as-is with no guaranteed uptime or service level.

Pro Membership

Pro membership is available at $7.99 CAD/month (billed monthly) or $69 CAD/year (billed annually — approximately $5.75/month). Pro members receive:

• Early access to new job listings (24–48 hours before public feed)
• Unlimited AI tool usage
• Unlimited saved jobs
• Application Tracker (full Kanban board)
• Priority job alerts
• Enhanced resume analysis and salary benchmarking

Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with at least 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

Billing & Renewal

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period
• You authorize LANDTHATROLE to charge your payment method on file for recurring amounts
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your payment details are held by Stripe and are not stored on our servers
• Annual subscriptions are charged as a single payment upfront

Cancellation & Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard
• Upon cancellation, Pro access continues until the end of the current paid billing period — no partial refunds for unused time
• A full refund is available within 7 days of your initial purchase if you have not meaningfully used Pro features. Contact support@landthatrole.com to request one
• No refunds are issued for annual subscriptions after the 7-day window, except where required by applicable law

LANDTHATROLE aggregates job listings from publicly accessible employer ATS platforms. We update listings frequently and take reasonable steps to remove expired or filled positions. However:

• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any listing
• We are not responsible for errors or omissions in employer job postings
• Job availability may change after listing — always verify directly with the employer before investing significant time in an application
• Salary figures displayed are sourced from employer postings or AI-extracted estimates. They are indicative only and may not reflect final offer amounts
• We are not a party to any employment relationship between job seekers and employers
• Clicking "Apply" takes you to the employer's own ATS or website. We have no control over third-party application processes, data handling, or hiring decisions

By creating a job alert, you consent to receive periodic job alert emails from LANDTHATROLE to the address you provide. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any alert email or by managing your alerts in your account settings.

We comply with the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts) are sent regardless of marketing preferences as they relate to your use of the service.

We will not send you unsolicited commercial electronic messages without your consent.

You may upload your resume or other files to use with our AI-powered tools. By uploading content, you:

• Confirm you own or have the right to share the content
• Grant LANDTHATROLE a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store it solely to provide the requested service to you
• Understand that uploaded files are processed by AI models (including third-party AI providers) to generate tool outputs
• Understand that you should not upload files containing sensitive third-party personal information

We do not use your resume content to train AI models or share it with employers without your explicit action. Uploaded files are retained for as long as your account is active, or until you delete them.

Our AI tools (Resume Checker, Cover Letter Generator, Interview Prep) are provided for informational and career assistance purposes only. Outputs are generated algorithmically and:

• Do not constitute professional career, legal, or HR advice
• May contain inaccuracies or be unsuitable for your specific situation
• Should be reviewed and edited before use — do not submit AI outputs verbatim
• Do not guarantee any specific employment outcome

Use of AI tools is subject to fair use limits on the Free tier. Abuse of free AI limits (e.g., automated scripting) may result in account suspension.

The LANDTHATROLE Insiders program connects job seekers with employees at companies who are willing to provide referrals or insider information.

• Insiders participate voluntarily and are not LANDTHATROLE employees or agents
• LANDTHATROLE does not guarantee referral outcomes, interview invitations, or job offers
• Communications between job seekers and Insiders are the responsibility of the parties involved
• You must not use the Insiders program to solicit, spam, or harass other users
• LANDTHATROLE reserves the right to remove Insiders or job seekers from the program for any reason
• Any fees or arrangements agreed directly between job seekers and Insiders are outside LANDTHATROLE's scope — we are not responsible for such arrangements

How It Works

• Share your unique referral link with people in your network
• When a referred person signs up and purchases a Pro membership, you receive 2 months of Pro membership free
• The referred user must be new to LANDTHATROLE (no existing account)
• The referred user must maintain an active paid Pro subscription for at least 30 days before the reward is credited
• Rewards are credited automatically within 7 business days of qualification

Rules

• Self-referrals (using multiple accounts to refer yourself) are prohibited and will result in account termination
• Referral rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged
• Fraudulent referral activity will result in forfeiture of all rewards and account suspension
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time with 30 days notice to active participants
• There is no cap on the number of valid referrals you can make

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically download job listings, salary data, or any Platform content via automated means
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable Canadian federal, provincial, U.S. federal, or state law
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information anywhere on the Platform
• Impersonate any person, company, or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Platform, our servers, or any connected systems
• Interfere with the operation of the Platform, including via denial-of-service attacks
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to create accounts, submit forms, or click through listings at non-human rates
• Introduce malware, viruses, or any malicious code to the Platform
• Reproduce, resell, or commercially exploit Platform content without our written permission
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users, Insiders, or LANDTHATROLE staff
• Use the Platform to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam)

Violations may result in immediate account suspension, termination, and where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

All content on LANDTHATROLE — including the brand name, wordmark, logo, design, code, copy, salary data, and AI tool outputs — is owned by LANDTHATROLE or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

You retain ownership of any content you upload (e.g., your resume). The limited licence you grant us under Section 8 terminates when you delete the content or your account.

Job listing content is owned by the respective employers and reproduced here for informational purposes. If you are an employer and have concerns about how your listing is displayed, contact legal@landthatrole.com.

The Platform contains links to third-party websites (employer ATS systems, job application portals, Stripe payment pages, etc.). These links are provided for your convenience. LANDTHATROLE:

• Has no control over third-party websites or their content, privacy practices, or data handling
• Is not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party sites
• Does not endorse third-party products, services, or employers by linking to them

We use Stripe for payment processing. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable law including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Users in California may also have rights under the CCPA.

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
• JOB LISTINGS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT
• AI TOOL OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSES
• USE OF THE PLATFORM WILL RESULT IN EMPLOYMENT

YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY ALBERTA AND APPLICABLE LAW, LANDTHATROLE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY, OR REPUTATIONAL HARM — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO LANDTHATROLE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 CAD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so the above may not apply to you in full.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LANDTHATROLE and its officers, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any content you submit to the Platform; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Before initiating any legal proceeding, please contact us at legal@landthatrole.com — we resolve most issues within 5 business days.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days notice via email to registered users before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may close your account.
